It’s been an action-packed few weeks in Room 5, with students diving into a range of exciting hands-on learning experiences. From exploring the fascinating world of bees and erupting volcanoes to setting sail on a journey through Māori migration, Room 5 has been full of energy, curiosity, and creativity!

Buzzing with Excitement in Room 5!

Room 5 had a truly memorable lesson thanks to Ezra, who brought in a special show-and-tell: live bees! The students loved seeing the different kinds of bees up close and learning all about these important pollinators. A big thank you to Ezra for sharing this fascinating experience!

Volcanic Eruption: Rooms 5 and 6 Explode with Fun!

The ground was shaking (with laughter!) this week as Room 5 held their much-anticipated volcano eruption! Joined by Room 6, the students gathered to watch the spectacular finale of the paper-mâché volcanoes. It was a thrilling, hands-on science lesson complete with bubbling "lava" that brought a huge burst of excitement to both classrooms!

Sailing Through History in Room 5!

Room 5 has been busy exploring the incredible journey of Māori migration to Aotearoa (New Zealand)! As part of their unit on migration, students learned how the first settlers travelled on waka (canoes) across the ocean. To truly understand the challenge, they designed, built, and tested their very own mini waka. The classroom was a flurry of innovation as students experimented with buoyancy and design, bringing history to life!
