Welcome to Term 4. The final term for the year.  We are looking forward to longer days and some summer sports kicking off. The first of these being our Colour run and Athletics.  

Term 4 always brings with it challenges with the weather getting warmer.  Please remember that Term 4 is a sun hat term. Named wide brimmed sun hats are to be worn outside at break times and to be used when outside for sport and PE.  

There is also a large amount of lost property. This is a reminder to name your uniform, including items like sun hats,  lunchboxes and drink bottles. 

I am looking forward to awarding more WAKA badges this term. This is one of my favourite parts of the job. It is also lovely to be able to share this job with our new WAKA leaders Louis Feck and Jarvis McPherson.   

Our big topic this term is NZ histories focussed on finding our way to Aotearoa/NZ, this may look quite different across our junior school. Some classes might be looking at polynesian navigation and migration and other classes might be looking at the Gold rush and why people made the move to NZ and some may be looking at the early settlers.  For the first 4 weeks of the term in Maths, our focus is on Algebra. In the second half of the term, we will be learning about Probability and  Measurement with a focus on probability investigations and time.  

As the Colour Run is coming up, we appreciate all the support with fundraising. The fundraising for this event goes to trips/sports events for 2026. It is great that everyone will benefit from the fundraising for this event.  So keep going out there and let's raise some money to support our ākonga.

Please be aware that due to a booking clash we can only get into the theatre on Friday the 17th for our week 2 Assembly. So our usual Wednesday assembly will be rescheduled for Friday at 2:30 pm.
