Kia Ora, As we head into the final two weeks of Term One, here’s a quick update on all the amazing things we’ve been up to. We kicked off the term with four of our Māori girls travelling to Gore alongside other Southern Area Schools, where they spent a night at the marae strengthening connections, learning together, and getting our haka and waiata down pack. We were lucky to hold the Country High School Athletics this year, students had a great time competing against Geraldine, Mackenzie, Waimate and Opihi schools. We had a great day at our swimming sports with Ohau taking the win. The Student Executive have stepped up this term, taking over House time first thing in the day, undertaking the rolls and sharing important notices. We are also doing weekly duties at the junior end supporting and mentoring our younger students and helping those relationships grow. Our exciting news is that our Formal Committee is now up and running, and we’re already making awesome progress with our planning. Upcoming fundraisers are hot chocolates every Wednesday and Fridays for the whole school starting next week Friday, $4.00 each. We are also planning on doing a car wash. We are yet to have a set date but will start at $15 each vehicle. Lily Burgess Share this article: Facebook Twitter LinkedIn
