At the end of last week, students in Room 6 created monochromatic portraits using felts, crayons, and paint to create their masterpieces. 🎨 🖼️

Last Friday, a group of TAS swimmers went to Kurow to participate in the Upper Waitaki Swimming. Some great results mean we will have nine students representing us at the North Otago competition! 🏊

Last weekend, Twizel Area School participated in the Secondary Schools South Island Rowing Regatta with schools from the very top of Te Waipounamu to the very bottom competing. 🚣

Harold and the Life Education bus have been delivering their programme to Year 1-8 ākonga this week. 🦒

Room 5 and 6 students are loving their swimming time this term. Their increased confidence in the pool is great to see. 🏊‍♂️

Cam has been busy in his construction class with Mr van M this week. 🪚 🧰 He even made time to stop off at the new entrant class to share his work with the younger tamariki!

Wellbeing Friday is off to a great start in the Junior School. This term we are focusing on encouraging the wellbeing of the tamariki by giving them a personal choice in what they would like to do within this time.

It was a picture-perfect day for the Twizel Area School Athletics Day last Thursday and we saw some great performances and even better sportsmanship from everyone involved!

Our Senior Science classes had an great week with new teacher Mrs Dixon, with Year 11 learning about microorganisms in food production, and Year 12 investigating the inner workings of sheep hearts .

Last week, M1 students enjoyed their camp, with some modifications due to the weather.

Seven of our students were selected to represent Twizel Rowing Club at the NZ National Rowing Championships to be held at Cambridge, Lake Karāpiro, after epic performances at the South Island regatta, where they won three golds, a silver and three bronzes.

This term, M2 are learning about animal welfare. On Tuesday morning, we were lucky enough to have Cody and Adrianne from the Department of Conservation visit with their conservation dogs. 🐶

M3 have started their food journey this year with basic cooking skills - this week's lesson was around cooking pasta correctly. 🍝

This week, students from Room 4 had the opportunity to visit Mrs. O'Carroll in the Digi Tech Room, where they gained insights into the principles of good digital citizenship.
