Last term, Year 10 students took part in the Youth Employability Programme delivered by The Y. Over several sessions, students explored the top seven skills employers look for in today’s workforce.

We recently hosted two kaiako from the Te Ana Rock Art Centre in Timaru who built on our students' knowledge of the historic link between lower South Canterbury and Te Manahuna, the Mackenzie Country, particularly in relation to mahika kai food gathering and rock art.

This week, M4 students had the opportunity to take their science learning to the next level by dissecting a sheep’s digestive system. Two weeks ago, our Year 8, 9, and 10 students set off on their much-anticipated adventure to Woodend Christian Camp, just north of Christchurch.

Room 4's Year 4 students weren't bored while the Year 5s were at camp! They had three incredible days of their own.

It’s been an action-packed few weeks in Room 5, with students diving into a range of exciting hands-on learning experiences. From exploring the fascinating world of bees and erupting volcanoes to setting sail on a journey through Māori migration, Room 5 has been full of energy, curiosity, and creativity!

Last week, our Year 5 and 6 students loaded up the vans and set off for an incredible 3-day, 2-night camp at Lakeland Park in Queenstown! The students immersed themselves in a range of fantastic activities.

M4 have begun studying the Living World by considering what makes something alive. We learnt about the life processes of nutrition by modeling the human digestive system - right to the end! Later in the term we will be investigating the digestive system of a sheep to compare the structures.

Last term, Tallulah took the M1 class for a very special lesson on learning the Braille alphabet. She began by teaching the class how to decode simple Braille sentences, helping everyone understand how the raised dots represent letters and words. Once they got the hang of it, Tallulah Brailled a unique sentence for each student to decipher — a real hands-on challenge!

As part of Te Wiki o te Reo Māori, our school community came together at the end of term three for KKēmu e te Pō / Games Night. It was wonderful to see so many whānau joining in, learning and laughing together!
